Confirm award availability before transferring; it's irreversible.
Five cities each edition. A green dot means we opened the restaurant's Resy page and saw the “Qualifies for Resy Credit” badge ourselves.

Tuesday, October 13, 2026 — Weekly Kickoff *A comprehensive look at everything live right now in points, miles, cards, and dining.*
Hilton has opened bookings for Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur, the brand's first hotel in Malaysia and an all-suite, 268-key property in KL's Golden Triangle district, per Hilton's own newsroom. The hotel is built around extended-living-style layouts rather than standard rooms, with dining from chefs Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Garima Arora. Hilton describes the opening as "late 2026," though the live booking engine currently shows the first sellable arrivals starting January 3, 2027.
The points angle: Entry-level suites are pricing from roughly 95,000 Hilton Honors points per night — steep by Hilton standards, but in line with a new flagship all-suite property. A launch offer (valid through the end of October 2026) adds breakfast plus 15,000 bonus Hilton Honors points for stays of two nights or more, which effectively knocks a meaningful chunk off that first redemption if you book before the offer closes.
The move: If a Malaysia trip is anywhere on your radar for 2027, register for the launch offer now — it costs nothing to lock in and expires this month, while the stay itself can be as far out as you like. Transfer paths: Amex Membership Rewards and Capital One both move to Hilton Honors (typically 1:2 and similarly uncompetitive ratios), so unless a transfer bonus like the one below is running, a Hilton co-brand card's direct earning or a cash rate may be the better play for a suite this expensive.

| Deadline | Deal | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Tomorrow, Oct 14 | Amex Membership Rewards → Hilton Honors, 30% transfer bonus (1,000 MR → 2,600 Hilton) | Last call to stretch MR into aspirational Hilton resorts — see below |
| Oct 15 | Chase Ultimate Rewards → Marriott Bonvoy, 70% transfer bonus | Biggest Marriott transfer bonus we've tracked this year |
| Oct 24 | Citi ThankYou → JAL Mileage Bank, 30% bonus | Best way to stock up on JAL miles for a premium cabin to Japan |
| Oct 31 | IHG One Rewards registration window opens through year-end | Register once, earn 2–3X points on every stay through Dec 31 |
Our pick of the week: The Amex→Hilton 30% bonus is the standout because it's the rare transfer bonus that unlocks genuinely aspirational properties on a sane number of points. At the enhanced rate, Conrad Bora Bora Nui (200,000 Hilton points/night) runs about 77,000 Amex points; Waldorf Astoria Punta Cacique in Costa Rica (140,000 Hilton points/night) runs about 59,000 Amex points. Transfers are irreversible and Hilton has devalued meaningfully this year, so confirm award availability on Hilton.com *before* you move a single point. *(Source: Thrifty Traveler, Frequent Miler)*
| From → To | Bonus | Effective Rate | Ends | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Amex MR → Hilton Honors | 30% | 1,000 → 2,600 | Oct 14, 2026 | Thrifty Traveler |
| Amex MR → Air France-KLM Flying Blue | 25% | 1,000 → 1,250 | Oct 31, 2026 | InsideFlyer |
| Amex MR → Aeromexico Rewards | 20% | 1,000 → 1,920* | Limited time, no confirmed end date | awardtravelfinder.com roundup |
| Chase UR → Marriott Bonvoy | 70% | ~0.73¢ → ~1.24¢/pt (per outside estimates) | 11:59pm ET, Oct 15, 2026 | Frequent Miler |
| Citi ThankYou → Avianca LifeMiles | 25% | 1,000 → 1,250 | Oct 24, 2026 | Doctor of Credit |
| Citi ThankYou → JAL Mileage Bank | 30% | 1,000 → 1,300 | Oct 24, 2026 | milestomemories.com |
*\*Aeromexico figure reflects the 20% bonus math; exact posted rate not independently confirmed — verify on your account's transfer screen before moving points.*
Thin this week: We found no confirmed, dated Capital One or Bilt transfer bonus for October — the trackers we checked are either guessing at a "likely" date or showing expired corridors. Don't move Capital One or Bilt points expecting a bonus that isn't actually posted.
A note on Marriott: The 70% Chase bonus is the headline number, but Marriott Bonvoy remains the weakest-value hotel currency on our cheat sheet (0.8¢/point) even boosted — it's a good move only if you have a specific Marriott redemption already in mind.
| Program | Promotion | Registration | Stay Dates | Bonus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| IHG One Rewards | Fall "Up to 3X Points" | Register through Dec 31, 2026 at ihg.com | Oct 1 – Dec 31, 2026 | 2X booking direct from your 2nd qualifying stay, 3X booking in the IHG app. No cap on bonus points. |
| World of Hyatt | Thompson Hotels 25th Anniversary | Register in the World of Hyatt app through Nov 10, 2026 | Sept 8 – Nov 10, 2026 | 2X base points at Thompson properties; one source caps total earnings at 30,000 bonus points |
| Hilton Honors (Amex co-brand) | Targeted stay offer | Enroll before spending — targeted, check your account | Through Dec 31, 2026 | 20,000 bonus Hilton points after $200+ spend on room charges, booked direct on Hilton.com |
| Marriott Bonvoy | "Exclusive For You" | Targeted — check Marriott's Promotion Central | Through Oct 31, 2026 | Personalized bonus-points offer; not everyone will see one, and missed deadlines forfeit the bonus |
A caution on the Marriott and Hilton rows above: both are targeted, not public — they show up (or don't) in your own account. Don't plan a trip around either one until you've confirmed it's actually sitting in your account.
Pulled straight from our DFW flight-and-hotel chart tracker (last verified Sept 8–9, 2026 — about five weeks old, so treat exact pricing as directional and double-check before booking):
| Route | Program | Cabin | Miles (one-way) |
|---|---|---|---|
| DFW → CUN or SJD | American AAdvantage (partner chart) | Business | 30,000 |
| DFW → KEF (Reykjavik) | Aeroplan (fixed partner chart) | Business | 60,000 |
| DFW → LHR / CDG / FRA | Aeroplan (fixed partner chart) | Business | 75,000 |
| DFW → NAP / FCO (Italy) | Aeroplan (fixed partner chart) | Business | 75,000 |
Bonus hotel sweet spot (same tracker): Park Hyatt Dubai, World of Hyatt Category 5, runs 80,000 points for 4 nights (20,000/night) — genuinely aspirational property, sane points price.
Also worth knowing: Alaska's Atmos Rewards is running a Bonus Points Challenge — fly to or connect through 10 destinations by Dec 31, 2027 and earn 10,000 bonus points plus 10,000 status points. Families on the Go members also get 20% of points back on kids' award tickets. *(Source: Thrifty Traveler)*
Thin this week: We could not confirm an active Delta SkyMiles flash sale or a new American AAdvantage award sale for October 2026 — the sales we found have already expired. Nothing invented here; check back Friday.
| Card | Credit | Amount / Period | Where It Works | Enroll? | Expires / Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Amex Platinum | Resy Credit | $100/quarter ($400/yr) | 10,000+ qualifying U.S. Resy restaurants | Yes | Ongoing. Since Aug 1, 2026, only venues showing the "Qualifies for Resy Credit" badge count — being bookable on Resy is not enough. |
| Amex Gold | Dining Credit | $10/month ($120/yr) | Grubhub, Cheesecake Factory, Goldbelly, Wine.com, Five Guys, Buffalo Wild Wings | Yes | Doesn't roll over — miss a month, lose it. |
| Amex Gold | Resy Credit | Up to $100/yr (semi-annual) | Same Resy badge rule as Platinum | Yes | Separate from the dining credit above — stack both. |
| Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant | Dining Credit | $25/month ($300/yr) | Eligible restaurants worldwide | No | Monthly allowance — can't bank or combine months. |
| Chase Sapphire Reserve | DoorDash restaurant credit | $5/month | DoorDash restaurant orders | Activate DashPass first | Separate from Sapphire Preferred's credit (see below). |
| Chase Sapphire Preferred | DoorDash non-restaurant credit | Up to $10/month | Grocery/convenience orders only — not restaurants | Activate DashPass, by Dec 31, 2027 | Easy to assume this is a dining credit — it isn't. |
| Hilton Surpass | — | No dining credit | Earns 7x points on U.S. dining instead | — | $50/quarter credit is for Hilton purchases only |
| Hilton Aspire | — | No dining statement credit | Daily F&B credit at property + $50/quarter airline credit | — | Not a general restaurant credit |
| Citi Strata Elite | Splurge Credit | $200/yr | American Airlines, 1stDibs, Best Buy, Live Nation (no dining merchants) | Yes, pick 2 | Dining itself just earns 6x on "Citi Nights" (Fri/Sat) |
| Capital One Venture X | — | Could not confirm a dining statement credit this week | 2X base earn on dining | — | Sources disagree; some cite an unverified 3X/$140 dining cap — treat with caution |
| Wells Fargo Autograph Journey | — | No dining credit | 3X earn on restaurants | — | Only credit on the card is $50/yr toward airfare |
How to trigger the fiddly ones: Amex Resy credits (Platinum and Gold) both require you to add your card to your Resy profile *and* enroll the benefit in the Amex app — do both, or the charge won't trigger a credit even at a qualifying restaurant.
| Card | Bonus | Min Spend / Window | Annual Fee | Public or Targeted? | Ends |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Amex Platinum | Historically ~80,000 MR pts; some applicants reporting up to 175,000 in personalized offers | $8,000–$12,000 in 6 months (varies by offer) | $895 | Mixed — amount is personalized; check CardMatch | Varies |
| Chase Sapphire Reserve | No confirmed current public offer — a 150,000-point offer appears to have expired; targeted offers up to 175,000 reported | $6,000 in 3 months (last confirmed public terms) | $795 | Targeted for the larger amounts | Unconfirmed |
| Capital One Venture X | 75,000 miles | $4,000 in 3 months | $395 | Public | Standing offer |
| Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant | 150,000 points + $250 statement credit | $6,000 in 6 months | $650 | Public (per recent reporting) | Sept 30, 2026 — may already have lapsed; confirm before applying |
This section is intentionally thin. Both of this week's marquee Amex and Chase offers are genuinely unsettled right now — blog trackers disagree with each other on the live public number, and the highest figures reported (175,000 points on both cards) are targeted, not something you can apply for with a plain link. Don't apply chasing a number you saw on a blog — check your own pre-qualified offer first.
Eligibility traps:
*Credit-badge (✅) status pulled directly from Thom's Resy-credit tracker (`spots` collection), last checked September 15, 2026 — about four weeks old. Michelin and Chase Sapphire Reserve (CSR) list status from the same database, collected September 9, 2026. Treat all of it as directional and re-verify the badge in the Resy app before counting on the credit.*
Dallas (home turf)
Chicago
Boston
Las Vegas
San Diego This one's thin. Cesarina (Michelin Bib Gourmand) is the strongest recognized pick we could confirm, and Juniper and Ivy is on the Chase Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables list — but neither is confirmed qualifying for the Amex Resy credit in our tracker this week. Being honest rather than padding: San Diego's Resy-credit coverage looks noticeably weaker than our other four cities right now.
Our standing cheat sheet (below) is unchanged this week, but it's worth flagging that The Points Guy's own October 2026 monthly valuations — a different, well-known methodology — are running meaningfully higher on two of the big transferable currencies:
| Program | Our Cheat Sheet | TPG's Oct 2026 Valuation | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chase Ultimate Rewards | 1.8¢ | 2.05¢ | +0.25¢ |
| Amex Membership Rewards | 1.8¢ | 2.00¢ | +0.20¢ |
| World of Hyatt | 1.55¢ | 1.65¢ | +0.10¢ |
We're flagging this rather than rewriting the cheat sheet outright — TPG and NerdWallet's competing valuations disagree with each other by a similar margin in the other direction on Marriott and AAdvantage, which tells us these are methodology differences, not a clean signal of a single "true" number moving. Worth knowing both points of view exist before you redeem.
| Program | Value (cents/point) |
|---|---|
| Citi ThankYou | 1.9¢ |
| Chase Ultimate Rewards | 1.8¢ |
| Amex Membership Rewards | 1.8¢ |
| World of Hyatt | 1.55¢ |
| American AAdvantage | 1.4¢ |
| Southwest Rapid Rewards | 1.3¢ |
| Delta SkyMiles | 1.2¢ |
| Marriott Bonvoy | 0.8¢ |
| Hilton Honors | 0.5¢ |
If you're sitting on Amex Membership Rewards points and have even a vague idea of a bucket-list hotel stay in the next year or two, transfer to Hilton Honors before the 30% bonus closes tomorrow (Oct 14). It's one of the few transfer bonuses that meaningfully changes the math on a genuinely aspirational property — Conrad Bora Bora Nui for ~77,000 points instead of 100,000, Waldorf Astoria Punta Cacique for ~59,000 instead of 90,000. Check award availability on Hilton.com *before* you transfer — the move is irreversible, and a bonus doesn't help if the room isn't there.
A few of our usual official program links (hotel-chain and bank sites) wouldn't load from this environment today — rather than guess at a URL, we left those out and pointed you to the program name instead. Dining, Michelin, and Chase Sapphire Reserve dining-list data is about four to five weeks old (last refreshed Sept 9–15); DFW's own flight/hotel chart data is similarly dated, while Chicago and Houston's deal data refreshed today. Treat exact pricing as directional and reverify before booking.
